MOVIE MINUTE by Paul Salfen
SEE IT ON THE BIGGEST SCREEN POSSIBLE [yasr_overall_rating]
In theaters this week is the most anticipated movie of the year, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And don’t worry, we won’t spoil it here but I can tell you that if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’re going to love it. Writer-director Rian Johnson has steered the ship in the right direction.
Obviously there’s a void left without Han Solo, but we get Luke Skywalker back in full force and the newer characters are even stronger than before. Everyone gets a hero moment or special moment, the characters touched on before are more fleshed out, and there’s enough nostalgia to make the old fans happy.
Obviously, we lost our Princess Leia in real life so some of Carrie Fisher’s scenes are tougher to watch than they should be, but it leaves more of an impact. At two and a half hours, about 2 hours of that seems to be action, so there’s a lot going on here and a lot of great fight scenes so it’s never boring. Go see it on the biggest screen possible and let the little kid in you enjoy every moment of it.
