King Corduroy’s Kurt McMahon had the best ride in town – a mule brought him into Aussie’s Beachbar and Grill during AMFM Magazine’s March Music Madness Party. It was a great idea, we’ll have to look into mule taxis the next time SXSW rolls around. Luke George interviewed the Austin-based band about their funky groove and new album “Austin Soul Stew.”
King Corduroy is a blending of Blues, Soul and Roots music into a sound they call Southern Soul Music. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Leon Russell, Little Feat, Taj Mahal, Ray Charles, Dr John and Delaney & Bonnie and Friends; King Corduroy features a host of Austin’s best musicians. Their debut record will be released this March. Here’s their REVERBNATION page. Have a listen.
