ARTBASH was a single night art party meets art exhibition meets art event. Art Alliance Austin worked with some of Austin’s most talented minds, curators, and artists to bring a brand new event to Austin. There was a mix of local and international artists, new works, site-specific installations, performances, premiering new artists, and some of Austin’s most established names to kick off the E.A.S.T. AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR.

Speaking Silence presents three-dimensional work by eighteen Texas artists, all members of the Texas Sculpture Group. The exhibition focuses on the contemplative nature of contemporary sculpture and how artists use the language of silence to convey ideas. Artistically, each of the exhibiting sculptors melds form and material seamlessly to create objects that engage, spark curiosity, and stimulate inquiry.
Jim Torok: New Portraits and Other Work
Opening Reception: November 14th, 6 to 8pm
Lora Reynolds Gallery
360 Nueces, Suite 50
Lora Reynolds Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of a solo exhibition by Jim Torok. Jim Torok has always drawn eccentric cartoons. After honing his unique approach to drawing, he eventually came to paint miniature, astonishingly realistic portraits, as well. The cartoons are introspective, but often universal; they illustrate Torok’s worries, fears, pet peeves, guilty pleasures, and wildest dreams. The portraits highlight his keen eye for the subtleties of human emotion and its expression. Torok will be giving an artist talk at 7pm.
